What's
your favorite beverage to have on hand when working?
Judy: Coffee in the
morning/ water during the day (I’m trying to wean myself off my Coke Zero
addiction)/ wine in the evening.
Marianne: Coffee in the
mornings (I drink at least a pot every day). Typically water otherwise,
though I do have seltzer or diet soda now and then (and kombucha once a day).
What do you love most about Goddess Fish Promotions?
Judy: Hands down, the hosts and the authors.
There are some awesome people out there!! It’s also nice being able
to be (somewhat) flexible with work hours. Sure, we have to get up early
to check tours, but it’s nice being able to take my job with me if we go out of
town. For instance, I’m
currently sitting in our home away from home in
Florida. Love it!!
Marianne:
I have “met” so many amazing people the past decade.
Authors, publishers, and our hosts.
I wish we could meet more of them IRL because I’d love to sit and chat!
They are the reason we keep this thing going. Also, being able to work from home (or
wherever I am) is a boon.
What's
the most challenging aspect of running Goddess Fish Promotions?
Judy: I miss time for
hobbies. I read every day before bed (it’s not a hobby, it’s a
necessity), but I miss having time to sit and crochet or do needlework.
Even when my husband and I are watching TV, I have the computer in front
of me doing things that are easily done while listening to a show. A lot
of copy and pasting things go on during that time.
Marianne: Not being able to take extended time
off. Thankfully, there are two of us running things, but we have our own
job assignments, so except in emergencies, really we both need to be online
doing our things. Even when I try to take time away, I’m too Type A and
am always thinking of my to-do list, or the fact people are counting on me for
things. I miss being able to leave a job
AT the job and just focus on home or vacation or family. Goddess Fish is
always in my head.
Judy: To one of our
friends, I was known as “the Goddess”... because anytime she asked the
impossible, I somehow made it happen.
Marianne: I’m dating myself with this explanation,
but … years and years ago, our first administrative assistant said to me,
“You’re nice, but … not. Like Fish on Barney Miller.” And from that
moment on, I was Fish. Don't know who he
is? Here’s is a tidbit: https://youtu.be/_9JSBdjYO_0
Thanks for hosting!
